Gongyenong Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Named by Bingwei Chen and Changxing Ai in 1983. The named section is located in the north of Walla Monastery, Jiangda County, Tibet.
Synonym: Gongye Nong Fm. Sichuan Geological and Mining Bureau and Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1982) have referred to a set of lower red layer, middle tuff layer and upper volcanic layer in the area of Jiangda Wash, Tibet, which represent the Late Triassic Carnian period deposition, as the Kappira Fm, and the named Gong Yelong Fm is stratigraphically equivalent to the middle tuff layer of the original Kappira Fm.
Lithology and Thickness
It is gray marl tuff, siliceous tuff, massive limestone with flint bands and nodules. The thickness is 420 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The top is in integrated contact with the underlying Upper Triassic Dongduo Fm
Upper contact
The bottom is in integrated contact with the overlying Upper Triassic Dongka Fm
Regional extent
Distributed in Jiangda County, Gongjue County and the area of Leiwuqi County in Tibet

Fossils
It contains Ammonoids Protrachyceras sp., Trachyceras sp. and Paratrachyceras sp., and also bivalves.

This group is a deeper seawater sediment.
